The Arboretum was a gift to the public in 1970 by Bob and Frances Bickelhaupt. The area surrounding their home has been turned into an outdoor museum for all to enjoy. It is funded as a private operating foundation and governed by a Board of Directors. Contributions to the arboretum are tax deductible.

Before and after.
The Visitor's Center features an auditorium and in the entrance area a museum display of native animals and birds. There is a free lending horticultural library. Conducted tours for groups can be arranged by appointment.

Various horticultural and cultural presentations are held during the winter months in the Visitor's Center auditorium as announced in local media and on the web page.

The interdependence of plants and people will always be important to the Bickelhaupt Arboretum as we work and live together to maintain this delicate balance.
