On March 14, 2005, 20 Girl Scouts Troop #1071 gathered at the arboretum to learn about trees, plants and crafts. The troop leaders Carla Hilgendorf and Jenny Van Buer joined the girls in the fun activities. Activities were planned and delivered by Linda and William Cornelius, with the teaching assistance of Joyce Ollie. Activities included pine cone bird feeder making, Holly Hock planter starting, bird identifying, buckeye necklace making, writing a nature-based Haiku, taking digital photographs of the arbortetum grounds, and much more.
