Group walking tours of 15 or more people may be scheduled in advance by calling 563-242-4771 or e-mailing the arboretum (bickarb@clinton.net). Tours are customized for the group, whether family, garden group, school children or horticulture students, and range from one to two hours. Volunteers may lead the tours with staff assistance. Please call ahead (563-242-4771) so volunteer drivers can be scheduled. Two electric carts are available for visitors who need assistance. For people who have not made prior arrangements, tours are offered at 2:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from April through November. Participants meet at the Gathering Place near the entrance (refer to map). Reservations are not necessary, but if cart assistance is needed, advance arrangements are necessary. The phone number for the arboretum is: 563-242-4771. For people wishing to tour the arboretum on their own, a map is available at the entrance gate that will guide guests to all major collections. A self-guided Reflection Walk is available for those wishing to spend time reflecting while enjoying the vistas. You are invited to go to specific spots, relax on the benches provided, look around you, listen to both the sounds and the silence, and read a passage to start you thinking. A brochure is available at the Entrance Gate. Follow the directions to the stations and read quotes to begin your reflection. The Reflection Walk changes seasonally.
