Starting at the top of the hill on the north side of the Arboretum, the Waterfall Garden overlooks the Heartland Collection of Garden Conifers. The waterfall cascades down the hill to a small pool. Daylilies, iris, sedum, fountain grass and other perennial plants grow among the rocks and along the edges of the waterfall. The Waterfall Garden is bordered by several unique conifers and features a wooden bridge. To the right of the bridge is a bog garden constructed in 2005. The bog garden is a mini-wetland, and features plants that grow in wet soil such as rush, sweet flag, and marsh marigold. There is a bench nearby where visitors can sit and relax to the sound of running water. Click HERE to view photographs of the waterfall garden. |
